Platanthera blephariglottis v. conspicua

Range:

Habitat: terrestrial in moist, open, acidic bogs, prairies, pine woods, and roadsides
Common name: White Fringed Orchid
Blooming: June-September
Comments: this terrestrial is almost equally as showy as its cousin, P. ciliaris. The white flowers usually have a proportionally shorter lip fringe and a proportionally larger column. Blooming at roughly the same time as P. ciliaris, natural hybrids of the two are known to occur and are given the epithet P. x bicolor.
