Range:
Habitat: terrestrial in moist, open, acidic bogs,
prairies, pine woods, and roadsides
Common name: Crested Fringed Orchid
Blooming: June-September
Comments: this terrestrial is much smaller than its
larger cousins, P. blephariglottis, P. chapmanii, and P. ciliaris and about
the same size as P. integra. The flowers are about half the size of P. ciliaris
borne on a cluster 2-3 inches (5 to 7.5 cm) tall.
