Platanthera cristata

Range:

Habitat: terrestrial in moist, open, acidic bogs, prairies, pine woods, and roadsides
Common name: Crested Fringed Orchid
Blooming: June-September
Comments: this terrestrial is much smaller than its larger cousins, P. blephariglottis, P. chapmanii, and P. ciliaris and about the same size as P. integra. The flowers are about half the size of P. ciliaris borne on a cluster 2-3 inches (5 to 7.5 cm) tall.
